North Adelaide Fenced Dog Park

North Adelaide Fenced Dog Park sits in Park 5 of the Adelaide Park Lands, in Bragg Park (Ngampa Yarta) off Robe Terrace near Main North Road. It is fully fenced and open around the clock, and the reason it draws from across the city is the split layout: a large general run for all dogs plus a dedicated small-dog section capped at 14 kilograms.

The dog setup

The two sections give you options: confident, social dogs get the main yard with running room and doggy tunnels to explore, while small or unsure dogs can use the separate enclosure without big breeds barrelling through. Water fountains with dog bowls, shaded shelters and seating cover the basics, and bag dispensers and bins are on site, though carrying spares is still smart. One rule that catches people out: puppies under six months are not permitted, and dogs need to be registered, vaccinated and wearing a disc.

Worth knowing

The small-dog section has push-button lighting that runs from dusk until 10pm, so winter evenings are workable. No food, alcohol or bikes inside the fences, and children need to be actively supervised. Weekends, especially Saturday and Sunday mornings, are the busy windows; weekday evenings and midday midweek are much calmer if your dog prefers space.

Max: use the 14 kilo side if your dog is small or nervous. The main run is social, which is brilliant for the right dog and a lot for the wrong one.

Getting there and parking

The entrance is off Robe Terrace near the Main North Road corner. Free street parking lines Robe Terrace and the nearby streets, so check time-limit signs before settling in for a long session. Adelaide Metro buses run along Main North Road and O'Connell Street, both an easy walk away, and public toilets are close by in the surrounding park lands.

Make a day of it

O'Connell Street is minutes away for a coffee afterwards, with Fika.Adl a local pick. To keep rotating fenced runs, All Dog Park in the city and William Lawson Park Dog Park in Prospect are both short drives.
