Fare Square

Fare Square is an all-day breakfast and brunch cafe at 6/8 Wellington Square, North Adelaide, sitting right on the edge of leafy Wellington Square. The draw for dog owners is simple: welcoming outdoor tables looking onto the park, plus a dedicated dog menu so your dog gets something too.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating on the square-facing patio. Staff are used to dogs and the cafe runs a dog menu, which puts it in a small group of Adelaide venues that feed the dog properly rather than just tolerating it. Bring a bowl or ask staff for water on warm days, and note that indoor access is not part of the deal.

The vibe

Regulars come for the all-day breakfast: poached eggs, smashed avocado, eggs Florentine, hash browns and a lamb burger at lunch, with a flammekueche that gets a run in reviews. Coffee comes by de Groot Coffee Co. Hours are 7am to 3pm weekdays and 7:30am to 3pm weekends, so it is strictly a breakfast-and-lunch room.

Street parking rings Wellington Square, generally free on weekends but timed on weekdays, so read the signs. It is an easy walk from anywhere in central North Adelaide, and the O'Connell Street strip is a block away if you want to extend the wander.

Close by with the dogs

Wellington Square is directly opposite for a leashed stroll before or after, and the North Adelaide fenced dog park is a short drive north for off-leash time. Weekend mornings fill up, so arrive early or aim midweek for a quiet patio table.
