Mayfield Park Dog Off Leash Area

Mayfield Park is a local off-leash park on Mayfield Drive in Mount Waverley, managed by the City of Monash. It is a flat, grassed sportsground with room to run, sitting next to a children's play area and used by community sports teams. The park is off-leash and unfenced except for the tennis courts, so it suits active dogs who have reliable recall.

The rules. Dogs must be under effective voice or hand control and stay within sight. Carry a lead and use it within 20m of the playground and busy picnic or BBQ areas. Dogs are not allowed on the tennis courts at any time. If weekend sport is on the ground, leash up if your dog might wander into play. Pick up after your dog; bag dispensers are on site.

What is there. A large flat grassed area good for fetch, park benches and sawn-log seating for supervising, and an adjacent playspace with a basketball half-court. Waste bags are available in the park.

Getting there. Limited street parking on Mayfield Drive and nearby streets. Bus routes run on the connecting roads with a short walk to the park; it is easiest reached on foot by local residents.

Busiest weekends and after school between about 3pm and 5pm; quieter on weekday mornings. Good for an open run when no sport is booked.
