Stevens Road Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Stevens Road Reserve off Huntly Court in Langwarrin is a bushy, wooded free-roam area rather than a fenced suburban dog park, which makes it better suited to energetic dogs after a proper bushwalk-style outing than a quick fenced play session.

The rules. Dogs need to be under effective voice or hand control at all times when off-leash, and you must carry a lead with you. Within 10 metres of barbecues, picnic areas or playgrounds, leash up. Greyhounds and any declared dangerous or menacing dog must stay on-leash throughout. Clean up after your dog using the waste bins provided.

What's there. Waste bins are the main fixture. The reserve is largely unfenced around its perimeter, so this is bush-roam terrain, not a secured yard. There are no water taps in the immediate off-leash area, so bring your own.

Getting there. Turn into Stevens Road off Cranbourne-Frankston Road, with street parking on Huntly Court. Buses run along Cranbourne-Frankston Road, but it is a walk in from the main road to the reserve itself.

When to go. Weekend mornings between 9 and 11am and weekday evenings from 4 to 6pm are the busiest. Weekday mid-morning or mid-afternoon is quieter and suits a dog that gets overwhelmed by crowds. Expect mud in the wetter months.
