What visitors mention
Kedron Brook Off Lead Dog Park is the broader off-leash floodway reserve running through Gordon Park, with the main access near Montrose Street. It is a big, unfenced stretch of open green field alongside the brook, with a sandy swimming spot and a walking path running for a couple of kilometres, and it is one of the more social dog parks in Brisbane's inner north.
The rules. Because the park is unfenced, dogs need solid recall before you go off-leash. Brisbane City Council expects dogs under effective control at all times, including responding to voice commands, and owners are responsible for stopping excessive barking or aggressive behaviour. There is no separate small-dog area, so it suits confident dogs more than nervous or reactive ones. Bring your own bags even though bins are provided.
What's there. Water taps are placed within the park, and there is a popular swimming spot in the brook itself. Shelter is limited, mostly clustered near the picnic areas at each end, so plan around the midday sun. Public toilets are available at the nearby sports grounds rather than in the park itself.
Getting there. Free parking is available near the main access points, including around Thistle Street and Montrose Street. Bus stops on Lutwyche Road are a short walk from the park if you would rather not drive. After rain the ground can turn muddy quickly, and the brook can run fast, so check conditions before letting a dog swim.
Nearby with the dogs. Nana & Da's café is a few blocks from the Lutwyche Road end, and Grange Bakery has coffee and a dog-friendly alley if you are approaching from that side.

Weekday mornings are quietest; weekday afternoons, Sundays, and the whole weekend get busy with the local dog-walking crowd. Good for social, water-loving dogs with reliable recall, less so for a nervous dog that needs a fenced, quiet space.
