Glenwood Dog Park

Glenwood Dog Park is the fenced off-leash area within Alwyn Lindfield Reserve, on Glenwood Park Drive right next to Glenwood Village Shopping Centre. The drawcard for local owners is straightforward: a dedicated, secure space for dogs to run hard, paired with a shopping centre a two-minute walk away for supplies or a coffee afterwards.

The dog setup

Off-leash applies only inside the signposted, fully fenced enclosure, which Blacktown City Council runs with a double-gate entry, a water refill station with a bowl inside, shaded spots and seating. Everywhere else in the reserve, including the paths and playground surrounds, dogs stay on lead, and declared dangerous or restricted-breed dogs are prohibited from the off-leash area. Recall still matters inside the fence: dogs must remain under effective voice or hand control, and you are required to carry bags and use the bins provided.

Max: the skatepark and playground next door mean foot traffic near the gates. Keep your dog focused on you coming in and out so they do not slip past anyone arriving.

Getting there and parking

Glenwood Park Drive connects from the main roads linking Blacktown and Bella Vista, and several bus routes stop near the shopping centre and reserve entrance. Parking is free but limited on-site and on the street, tightening badly at peak times; if the reserve car park is full, use the adjacent side streets rather than circling. The broader reserve also has a paved and gravel walking track that loops the field, a community skatepark, outdoor fitness equipment and a playground, so expect families and cyclists sharing the space.

Close by with the dogs

For a second fenced run, Poppy's Dog Park in Quakers Hill is a short drive away, and Stanhope Dog Park covers the northern side. For a post-walk coffee, Good Fella Coffee in Bella Vista is the closest published dog-friendly option. Weekend mornings and weekday afternoons around 5pm draw the regulars; mid-week mornings and weeknights after 8pm are the quiet windows.
