Faulkland Crescent Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Faulkland Crescent Reserve is a fully fenced, council-run off-leash dog park in Kings Park, with separate secure enclosures for big and small dogs. It is the reason locals off Garling Road never have to hunt for a safe spot to unclip the lead, and the double-gated entries mean escapes are rare even with an excitable dog in tow.

The dog setup

Dogs stay on leash entering and leaving the reserve and anywhere outside the fenced sections, under Blacktown City Council rules. Inside, owners are expected to stay with their dog and keep voice control, with only sociable, vaccinated dogs in the off-leash zone and dangerous or restricted breeds barred by law.

High secure fencing splits the park into large-dog and small-dog sections, with water taps and bowls, shelters and benches. Water can run occasionally limited, so bring a backup bowl, and there are no public toilets on site.

The vibe

Weekday mornings are the quiet window before the after-work and weekend-afternoon crowds arrive, with Saturday and Sunday afternoons drawing the biggest turnouts. Aim early if your dog prefers a calmer park.

Max: double-gated entries only work if everyone closes the first gate before opening the second. Watch the latches when a big group arrives.

There is no artificial lighting, so this is a daylight-hours park. The 16-hectare reserve around the enclosures adds walking tracks, woodland, two playgrounds and picnic shelters with views toward the Blue Mountains, all on-lead for dogs.

Getting there and parking

The reserve sits off Garling Road, reached from the M7 Motorway, Sunnyholt Road or Vardys Road. On-street parking is generally available on surrounding residential streets such as Faulkland Crescent, and the nearest station is Marayong with local buses serving Kings Park.

Close by with the dogs

Orana Park fenced dog park in Seven Hills is the nearest alternative if the enclosures are busy. Piccolo Me in Kings Park and The Backshed Cafe in Kings Langley both welcome dogs.
