Faulkland Crescent Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Faulkland Crescent Reserve is a fully fenced, council-run off-leash dog park in Kings Park, with separate secure enclosures for big and small dogs. It's the reason locals off Garling Road never have to hunt for a safe spot to unclip the lead, and the double-gated entries mean escapes are rare even with an excitable dog in tow.

The rules. Dogs must stay on leash entering and leaving the reserve, and anywhere outside the fenced sections. Once inside the fenced area, owners are expected to stay with their dog and keep voice control. Only bring sociable, vaccinated dogs into the off-leash zone, and pick up after them, bins and bag dispensers are provided on-site.

What's there. High secure fencing splits the park into large-dog and small-dog sections, with water taps and bowls (occasionally limited, so bring a backup bowl), shelters, and park benches for owners. There's no artificial lighting, so it's a daylight-hours park, and no public toilets on-site.

Getting there. The reserve sits off Garling Road, easily reached from the M7 Motorway, Sunnyholt Road or Vardys Road. On-street parking is generally available on surrounding residential streets such as Faulkland Crescent. The nearest train station is Marayong, with local buses serving the Kings Park area.

Watch-outs. The ground can turn wet and muddy after heavy rain, and open areas get hot with little shade, so carry extra water in summer.

Weekday mornings are the quiet window before the after-work and weekend-afternoon crowds arrive. Saturday and Sunday afternoons draw the biggest crowds, so aim early if your dog prefers a calmer park.
