Gembrook Leisure Park

On the corner of Gembrook Road and Beenak East Road, Gembrook Leisure Park is the town's community hub rather than a bush walk. It suits a short leashed wander with the dog while the rest of the family uses the playground.

Lead rules

Keep dogs on lead the whole time. Cardinia Shire Council requires leads in all public places unless an area is signed for off-lead use, and this park is not one of them.

Carry bags, as the council expects owners to pick up.

What you'll find

Sealed paths link open lawns, a mining-themed district playground, a skate park, fitness stations and a community garden beside the community centre. The paths are short, so this is a stroll, not a workout.

There is shade around the play and skate areas, plus free parking off Beenak East Road.

When to go

Weekday mornings are calmer, before the skate park and playground fill up. It suits a young dog learning to stay settled around bikes, boards and kids.
