Robinsons Park Dog Off Leash Area

Robinsons Park is a large, open off-leash reserve on Robinsons Road in Frankston South, mixing flat grassy runs with wooded pockets and a small dam that dogs use to cool off. The draw is space and variety: it is off-leash around the clock and rates well with locals for its easy, friendly feel.

The rules. Dogs run off-leash 24/7 under effective voice control and within sight. Leash up when entering or exiting, and stay leashed within 10 metres of organised sport, the playground, or the BBQ and picnic areas. The reserve is not fully fenced, so reliable recall matters. Carry a bag and clean up; if your dog gets snappy, leash and move on.

What's there. On-site car park at the 96-100 Robinsons Road entrance, drinking water with dog bowls, bag dispensers and bins, public toilets near the pavilion, and extensive walking paths through the trees. The dam is the standout for water-lovers.

Getting there. Easiest by car, straight off Robinsons Road with free parking on site. Bus routes run along the nearby main roads (Nepean Highway or Frankston-Flinders Road) with a short walk in.

Watch-outs. Keep an eye on the wooded sections and long grass in the warmer months (roughly October to April) for snakes, and note the unfenced boundaries near the road.

Quietest mid-morning or early afternoon on weekdays. Weekends and the early-morning and late-afternoon windows draw the biggest crowd, which suits social dogs and busy play.
