Alexandra Park Fenced Dog Park

Alexandra Park Fenced Dog Park is a large, fully fenced off-leash area on the corner of Cadell and Keene Streets in East Albury, open 24 hours a day. It is one of Albury's premier dedicated dog parks, and its position just off the Hume Freeway corridor has made it a regular stop for travelling dogs as well as locals. Spacious grassed grounds, mature shade trees and a real agility course put it a rung above the usual suburban enclosure.

The dog setup

The enclosure is fully secured with a double-gated entry, and the security fencing keeps dogs safely back from Cadell Street traffic, which is the main selling point over an unfenced reserve. Inside there is a single large shared space rather than separate big and small dog zones, with agility equipment including ramps and hoops, drinking water for dogs, benches for owners, and waste bags and bins supplied throughout. Muddy low spots develop after rain, particularly through winter, so check the ground before you unclip.

Max: one shared yard means all temperaments mix. Watch the traffic through the gate for a minute before committing, especially with a nervous or reactive dog.

Worth knowing

AlburyCity rules apply: stay in the park with your dog, keep it under effective control with reliable voice commands, and leash up and leave if your dog shows aggression. Clean up immediately using the bins provided. Because it is one open space, it suits a well-socialised, confident dog better than a shy one, and the park doubles as a family space, so give kids on the edges a wide berth.

Getting there and parking

The park sits on Cadell Street, easily reached from the Hume Freeway, with free parking on site and along the street. There is no direct bus route, but it is a short drive from central Albury.

Close by with the dogs

Logan Road Park Fenced Dog Park is the other major fenced facility at North Albury, and Oddies Creek Leash Free Area adds a big unfenced Murray River run. On the Victorian side, Belvoir Park Dog Park covers Wodonga. For coffee, Schubach St. Deli is the closest listing.
