Schubach St. Deli

Schubach St. Deli is set in a restored 1930s corner building at 347 Kenilworth Street in East Albury, blending old-school deli counter with specialty coffee. It opens 7am to 3pm weekdays and 8am to 1pm weekends, and dogs are explicitly welcomed in the outdoor seating, which has made it a regular stop for the suburb's dog walkers.

The dog setup

The alfresco tables run along the street frontage, catching the morning sun, and that is where dogs belong. Keep your dog leashed and clear of the walkway so pram and foot traffic can pass. Ask staff for a water bowl on arrival; the corner position gives your dog something to watch while you wait on the sandwich press. The corner-store setting also makes it an easy in-and-out stop if your dog is still learning cafe manners.

What to order

House-made bagels with rotating builds, including banh mi-style combinations, are the signature, alongside gourmet toasties, mortadella focaccia and quality oat lattes. House-baked sweets and pastries change through the week. It is more deli-counter than big-breakfast kitchen, which suits a quick stop on a walk, and the coffee is a genuine reason to come on its own.

Getting there and parking

Free street parking runs along Kenilworth Street and the surrounding residential streets, and it is rarely hard to find a bay even on weekend mornings.
