Meraki Kitchen

Meraki Kitchen is a health-focused cafe on Kiewa Street in South Albury, just south of the Albury CBD grid. Dogs are welcome at the alfresco footpath tables out front, which makes it a coffee stop on a walk rather than a sit-down-inside meal, and the kitchen's fresh, seasonal cooking gives it a clear identity among the border cafes.

The dog setup

Bring the dog to the outdoor footpath seating; the indoor room is not for pets. Seat your dog on the outer edge of the tables so other people can pass, as this is a street-front strip with steady foot traffic. Staff will often bring out a water bowl, but pack a collapsible one to be sure, especially on warmer border days.

Worth knowing

The menu leans healthy and seasonal: fresh salads through summer, heartier plates when it cools, and strong gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan coverage, with the smashed avo, bacon and egg roll and chia pudding getting regular mentions. Coffee holds up well too. Hours run from 6:30am to 3pm daily, so it covers early breakfast through a working lunch.

Getting there and parking

Find it on Kiewa Street with street parking directly out front and along the surrounding streets. Central Albury is an easy walk away, so it slots into a town walk without needing the car at all.

Close by with the dogs

Noreuil Park on the Murray is a short stroll or drive for a riverside leg-stretch, the Albury Botanic Gardens are close by for a leafy on-lead wander, and the Oddies Creek Leash Free Area is the local off-lead spot. For other stops, Ebden & Olive Cafe and House of Ivy are nearby pours.
