Boama Park Fenced Dog Park (Small Dog)

The rules. Dogs are off-leash only inside the fenced enclosure. Keep gates closed at all times, and hold the leash until you are inside and the gate is shut behind you. What's there. Dog-friendly water taps, shaded seating for owners, and a flat, well-grassed surface. The wider Boama Park adds a children's playground, a BMX track, a basketball court and picnic shelters. It is flat and wheelchair accessible.

Getting there. The park is on Esplanade South; street parking is available on Cross Street and Windlass Street. Access is easy off the main road, with local bus stops within walking distance.

When to go. Weekday mid-morning and the early-afternoon lull around 1 to 2 are quietest, which small or nervous dogs often prefer. Saturday mornings and the 3 to 5 school-pickup window are busiest. It is breezy on the Esplanade but sunny, so bring water and use the shade.
