Ridgehaven Park Fenced Dog Park

Ridgehaven Park Fenced Dog Park on Kalana Road in Currimundi is a 2.4-hectare park with two separate fenced off-leash enclosures set among natural shade and grass: a smaller area for small dogs and a larger one for medium to large dogs.

The dog setup

Both enclosures are fully fenced with double-gate entries, so check the gates are latched behind you before letting go of the lead. Off-leash time belongs to the fenced areas; on the surrounding parkland and paths keep your dog on lead and follow Sunshine Coast Council signage. The larger enclosure has natural agility features for active dogs, and covered shelters, seating benches and shaded spots run through the park. Water taps are available for dogs, waste bins are provided, and exercise equipment along the nearby walking paths gives owners their own workout.

Max: check both gates are latched before you let go of the lead. A fenced park is only as safe as its weakest gate.

The vibe

Evenings and weekend mornings bring the most local dogs and the busiest gates; weekday afternoons are quieter if your dog prefers space over socialising. After rain the low ground can turn muddy, so expect paws to prove it. Dogs are not permitted on the playground or in the children's play areas.

Getting there and parking

The park sits at 93 Kalana Road, Currimundi, between Kalana Road and Beerburrum Street. Street parking is generally available on Kalana Road with a nearby car park as backup, and bus stops on Beerburrum Street are within walking distance.

Close by with the dogs

The Currimundi Beach off-leash area is a short drive for dogs that want sand and surf after the grass, and the Viridian Circuit Park at Golden Beach and the Nicklin Way Fenced Dog Park at Warana are other fenced options on this stretch of coast. For a coffee, Penny G's Coffee is the local stop.
