Ridgehaven Park Fenced Dog Park

Ridgehaven Park Fenced Dog Park on Kalana Road in Currimundi is a 2.4-hectare park with two separate fenced off-leash enclosures, one for small dogs and a larger one for medium to large dogs, set among natural shade and grass.

The rules. The fenced enclosures operate as off-leash areas at all times; the wider park around them is off-leash from 4pm to 8am and on-leash outside those hours. Keep voice control over your dog even inside the fenced areas, and double-check the double gates are shut behind you when entering or leaving, the double-gate system is there to stop dogs slipping out while you are on your way in. Dogs are not permitted on the playground or in the children's play areas. Bag and bin your dog's waste, bins are provided.

What's there. The large dog enclosure has natural agility features to play on, and there are covered shelters, seating benches and shaded areas throughout. Water taps are available for dogs, and exercise equipment sits along the nearby walking paths if you want to stretch your own legs too.

Getting there. The park is at 93 Kalana Road, Currimundi, between Kalana Road and Beerburrum Street. Street parking is generally available on Kalana Road or in the nearby car park, and bus stops on Beerburrum Street are within walking distance.

Nearby with the dogs. Coco's By The Lake on Westaway Parade allows dogs at its outdoor tables with lake views, a good stop after a play session. The Currimundi Beach off-leash stretch is also a short drive away for dogs that want sand and surf as well as grass.

Evenings and weekend mornings bring the most local dogs and the busiest gates; weekday afternoons are quieter if your dog prefers space over socialising. The ground can turn muddy near the lake end after heavy rain, so factor that in before a wash-day-free visit.
