A modern fenced off-leash park in the Meridian estate at Clyde North, on Rathi Street next to the Dablam Street playground and pump track. The draw is a secure, well-kept space to let your dog run, with plenty of family facilities right beside it. The one thing to know up front: there are no poo bags on site, so bring your own.

The rules. Keep your dog on-lead until you are inside the double-gate airlock entry, then off-leash within the fence. Use the airlock properly, closing one gate before opening the next. The pump track runs right alongside the fence, so if your dog reacts to bikes, keep them under close voice control. Bring your own waste bags, none are supplied.

What's there. A water tap and bowl sit inside the fence, with basic seating and limited shade. The adjacent park has BBQs, undercover picnic tables and a large playground. Public toilets are not at the dog park itself but are over in the main playground area.

Getting there. Access is via Rathi Street with street parking, which can fill on weekends. Walking paths through the Meridian estate make it easy to reach on foot, but bus options are limited, so most people drive.

The grass holds mud for days after rain, so keep a towel in the car. And mind the pump track fence line if your dog is bike-reactive.

When to go. Mid to late weekday mornings are quietest. Weekday afternoons between 4pm and 6pm and weekend mornings are the busiest stretches.
