Ranford Fenced Dog Park

Ranford Fenced Dog Park is a fully enclosed off-leash reserve at 22a Solway Green, in the Ranford estate of Canning Vale. The draw is simple: a large, flat grassed field wrapped in secure fencing, so recall-shy dogs can run flat out without a road anywhere near them. It stays quiet for most of the week, which suits nervous or reactive dogs that struggle in a crowded park.

The dog setup

The field is one open run rather than a maze of obstacles, so it suits dogs that just want space. Entry is through air-lock gates; make sure each one latches behind you before you unclip. Dogs are off-leash inside the fence under effective voice control, which under City of Canning rules means carrying a lead and being confident your dog will come back when called. There is a dog water station on site, plus shaded seating and benches at the edges for owners. Clean up straight away and keep dogs out of the adjacent children's playground.

Shade is limited to the tree lines around the edges and the open field warms up quickly in summer, so come early on hot days. If your dog is aggressive toward people or other animals, the expectation is that you leash up and leave.

Max: carry your own water bowl and a spare bag of poo bags. The on-site supplies are handy but they run out, and you do not want to be caught short at a park this quiet.

The vibe

Weekday mid-morning and late evening are the calmest windows if your dog prefers space; weekend mornings and weekday afternoons are the social peak. The reserve sits inside the Ranford estate, so most visitors are locals walking from surrounding streets rather than destination crowds. The park is open around the clock.

Getting there and parking

Parking is kerbside only near 22a Solway Green, and it fills on weekend mornings, so expect a short walk if you arrive late. Bus stops along Ranford Road are within walking distance if you are coming without a car.

Close by with the dogs

BLVD Specialty Coffee on Waratah Boulevard is the obvious after-park coffee, with alfresco seating, water bowls and tie-up hooks. If your dog still has energy left, the Bracadale Park Fenced Dog Park adds agility gear in the same suburb, and Piara Waters Dog Park is a short drive south.
