Bracadale Small Dog Park

Bracadale Small Dog Park sits within Bracadale Park at Canning Vale, off Ranford Road near the corner of Canna Drive and Campbell Road. It is a modern, fully fenced, double-gated facility split into two separate grassed areas, one intended for timid or small dogs and one for the boisterous crowd. That separation is the reason to come here: a nervous or little dog can play without being bowled over by high-energy dogs.

The rules. Dogs stay leashed until you are through the double gates, and both gates should be closed behind you. Owners are expected to stay inside the fenced area and keep their dog in sight. Pick up after your dog using the bins provided, and remove any aggressive dog straightaway.

What's there. A double-gated entry that gives nervous dogs a safe airlock, a low dog-height water basin, covered seating for owners, and a grassed run with a sandpit. There are agility elements too, including crawl tunnels, large tyres and a ramp. Natural shade helps, but the WA sun still bites in summer.

Getting there. Street parking is available but limited at peak times, with overflow options at Bushy Gardens and Beauly Parade up to about 250 metres away. Transperth bus routes run along Canna Drive and Ranford Road, connecting to Cannington and Murdoch stations.

Weekday and weekend mornings and the 4pm to 6pm run are busiest. For summer visits, come early before the grass heats up, and if Canna Drive is full, try Beauly Parade.
