Bracadale Small Dog Park

Bracadale Small Dog Park sits within Bracadale Park at Canning Vale, off Ranford Road near the corner of Canna Drive and Campbell Road. It is a modern, fully fenced, double-gated facility split into two separate grassed areas, one intended for timid or small dogs and one for the boisterous crowd. That separation is the reason to come here: a nervous or little dog can play without being bowled over by high-energy dogs.

The dog setup

Dogs stay leashed until you are through the double gates, and both gates should be closed behind you. Owners are expected to stay inside the fenced area and keep their dog in sight, pick up after their dog using the bins provided, and remove any aggressive dog straightaway.

The double-gated entry gives shy dogs a safe airlock, and there is a low dog-height water basin, covered seating for owners, and a grassed run with a sandpit. Agility elements include crawl tunnels, large tyres and a ramp. Natural shade helps, but the WA sun still bites in summer, so come early.

Pepsi: if your dog is on the shy side, aim for a weekday between 10am and 2pm. The timid side is often near empty then, which makes a big difference for a wary dog finding its feet.

The vibe

Weekday and weekend mornings and the 4pm to 6pm run are the busiest windows, with a steady local crowd rather than a destination scene. The split-zone layout means the two sides rarely mix, so reactive or timid dogs have a genuine alternative to braving the main enclosure.

Getting there and parking

Street parking is available but limited at peak times, with overflow options at Bushy Gardens and Beauly Parade up to about 250 metres away. Transperth bus routes run along Canna Drive and Ranford Road, connecting to Cannington and Murdoch stations.

Close by with the dogs

The main Bracadale Park Fenced Dog Park occupies the same reserve for big, confident dogs, and the Ranford Fenced Dog Park is another enclosed option nearby. For coffee after the session, BLVD Specialty Coffee is a local stop in Canning Vale.
