Bolinda Road Dog Off Leash Area

Bolinda Road Dog Off Leash Area is a Hume City Council reserve in Campbellfield built around two large open ovals, dedicated as off-leash space in 2018. It runs quieter than some of the busier Hume dog parks, which suits high-energy dogs that need room to sprint without a crowd around them.

The dog setup

Dogs must be under effective voice control while off-leash, kept at least 10 metres from the children's playground equipment, and back on-lead in the car park and any adjacent on-leash areas. Owners are required to carry bags and clean up. The ovals are fenced, but gaps exist near the exits, so do not rely on the fencing alone for a dog with poor recall.

Max: two full-size ovals mean you can always find a clear patch, but watch the gaps near the gates if your dog heads for an exit the moment it sees one.

The vibe

Mid-week mornings and early afternoons are the best bet if you want the ovals to yourselves. Late afternoons after 4pm and weekend mornings bring out the local regulars, which is fine for a social dog but worth avoiding for a reactive one. Around the reserve you will find water taps, shaded and unshaded picnic tables and benches, plus a small playground, cricket nets and a skatepark for the rest of the household.

Getting there and parking

The reserve sits off the Hume Highway and Cooper Street, accessed via Bolinda Road, with parking inside the reserve boundary. It is best reached by car, though local bus routes service the area.

Close by with the dogs

The Seth Raistrick Reserve off-leash area is the suburb's other option, and if you want a fully enclosed space the Craigieburn Fenced Dog Park is a short drive up the highway. For a coffee stop, Grain & Grind Cafe is a local favourite in Campbellfield.
