Clayton Park Fenced Dog Park

A fully fenced off-leash dog area inside Clayton Park, Beachmere's main community park at 23-45 Biggs Avenue. The useful part for dog owners is the split enclosure: separate fenced sections for large and small dogs, with shade and seating, right in the centre of town near the foreshore.

The rules. Dogs must be under effective voice control while off-leash inside the fenced exercise area, and on-leash everywhere else in Clayton Park. Pick up after your dog - bins are provided. Remove any dog showing aggression from the enclosure.

What's there. The dog area is fenced with separate small and large sections, a water fountain and shaded seating for owners. The wider park adds electric barbecues, picnic tables, public toilets, shelters, a basketball court, a skate park, a playground and outdoor fitness gear. There is an on-site car park.

Getting there. Roughly an hour's drive north of the Brisbane CBD. There is an on-site car park plus street parking on Biggs Avenue, and the park is walkable from the foreshore.

Nearby with the dogs. Beachmere Caravan Park sits right next door, and several cafes along the foreshore end of Biggs Avenue are within walking distance for a coffee afterwards.

When to go. Weekdays are quieter; weekends and the late-afternoon window from about 4pm to 6pm are the busiest. There is shade, but it can still fill up on hot days, so go early. Good for owners who want a secure fence and a size-matched play space.
