The rules. Dogs must stay under effective voice control even inside the fenced area. Carry a leash with you at all times, and leash up again in the car park and the surrounding John Baker Reserve. Pick up and bin waste immediately using the provided stations. Declared dangerous, menacing or restricted breeds are not permitted in the off-leash sections, and any dog showing aggressive or harassing behaviour must be removed.

What's there. The fenced park has double-gate airlock entries so dogs cannot bolt out while you are getting settled. Inside you will find agility extras like tunnels and balance beams, drinking fountains with low dog bowls, shelters, benches for owners, and waste bag dispensers. Young trees were planted in 2022, so shade is still developing rather than mature.

Getting there. The park is on Darlington Drive, reachable via Terranora Road, Fraser Drive, or the M1 with the Tweed Valley Way exit. There is a dedicated car park at the entrance, though it fills up during busy periods, when nearby residential streets take the overflow. Surfside Buslines run through the area, with a stop on Darlington Drive near Banora Point High School a short walk from the gates.

Nearby with the dogs. A few minutes' drive brings you to cafes with dog-friendly outdoor seating around Tweed City Shopping Centre, and there are pet-friendly motels and self-contained holiday rentals scattered through Banora Point and Tweed Heads for anyone making a longer stay of it.

When to go. Late afternoons on weekdays and weekends are the busiest stretch, so if you want the run of the place, aim for a Sunday morning or a quiet weekday evening. After heavy rain the turf can get muddy, so factor in a towel for the car.
