Baldivis Fenced Dog Park

The short version. The Baldivis Enclosed Dog Park (locally known as the fenced dog park) sits inside Barri Barri Park on Acrasia Road, and it is a proper double-gated, fully fenced off-leash run with a separate small-dog pen. If you want a secure spot to let a bolter or a nervous newcomer off the lead, this is the one.

The rules. Standard City of Rockingham off-leash conditions apply: dogs must be under effective voice and visual control inside the pens, and back on-leash the moment you step outside the gates. Clean up after your dog, and when moving through the airlock, let the outer gate latch fully before you open the inner one.

What is there. Two separate fenced areas, one for small dogs and one for all sizes, with 1.8m boundary fencing and a solid internal divider. Expect open grass, shaded bench seating, dog water fountains and bowls, waste-bag dispensers and a community ball library. There are no public toilets on site, so plan around that.

Getting there. Free off-street parking sits right by the entry gates on Acrasia Road, off Baldivis Road and an easy run from the Kwinana Freeway. Transperth buses serve wider Baldivis but drop you a 10 to 15 minute walk away, so most people drive.

When to go. It gets busy in the late-afternoon golden hours, roughly 4:30 to 6pm on weekdays, and on weekend mornings. For a calmer session with fewer reactive dogs, aim for mid-morning to early afternoon on a weekday. Shade is limited in high summer, so check the forecast and bring water. Make a day of it with a coffee at Oscar's Bakery or a drink on the patio at The Chase Bar & Bistro afterwards.
