Juice Monkey

Juice Monkey is the healthy stop on James Street in central Yeppoon, built around fresh juices, smoothies and famously thick acai bowls. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath tables out front, which makes it an easy first stop on a Capricorn Coast morning before the heat settles in over the Esplanade.

The dog setup

Take one of the relaxed outdoor tables and your dog can sit right beside you; staff are known for being easy with dog owners. A water bowl usually does the rounds on quieter days, but it is not a given when the sidewalk is full, so a collapsible bowl in the bag removes any doubt. Keep the lead tidy against the footpath so passing walkers can get through.

This is a light-bite place rather than a big cooked breakfast: juices made to order, protein shakes, acai bowls and acai soft serve, sushi bowls, salads, chia cups, rice paper wraps and coffee, with gluten-free and vegan options across the menu. Doors open at 6:30am daily, and closing time moves around depending on the day, so check their Facebook page if you are planning a late-afternoon stop.

Getting there and parking

You will find it at 52 James Street, right on the main strip in central Yeppoon. Street parking is available along James Street and the surrounding roads, and the beachfront and Esplanade paths are only a short walk away, so a beach walk and a smoothie slot together easily.

Close by with the dogs

Livingstone Shire allows dogs off-lead on local beaches before 8am and after 4pm, which pairs neatly with an early juice. For fenced off-lead time, Lammermoor Dog park is a short drive south.
