The Cheeky Fork

The Cheeky Fork is a breakfast-and-lunch cafe at 13 James Street in central Yeppoon, open 6:30am to 2pm Wednesday to Sunday and closed Monday and Tuesday. The kitchen's reputation rests on generous breakfasts, a long list of eggs benedict under a Benny Bonaza heading, steak sandwiches and burgers, with a Little Cheekys menu for kids and plenty of indoor air conditioning when the Capricorn Coast heat bites.

The dog setup

James Street sits in the middle of Yeppoon's cafe strip, where outdoor street dining is the norm and local dog-travel guides describe most of the strip's cafes as happy to have dogs join you at outside tables. We could not find a published dog policy for this cafe specifically, so keep your dog on a lead at the outdoor tables and check with staff on arrival. Carrying your own water bowl is always a safe bet in summer.

Pepsi: a proper sit-down breakfast stop, so a dog that can settle under a table for a long brunch will do well here.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is a short walk from the Yeppoon foreshore and Main Beach, where the promenade is an easy on-lead stroll after breakfast. Street parking around James Street is generally free, though weekend mornings get busy with the breakfast crowd; a weekday visit makes shaded outdoor tables easier to claim.

Make a day of it

Under Livingstone Shire rules, dogs are allowed on-lead on local beaches and off-lead before 8am and after 4pm, so a morning beach walk pairs naturally with coffee here. Lammermoor Dog Park to the south has fenced off-lead areas, and other dog-friendly options on the strip include Cafe 63 Yeppoon, Chapter and The Alley.
