B&L Espresso Bar

B&L Espresso Bar is a small Vietnamese cafe and espresso bar at 5 Augusta Street in a quiet residential pocket of Willetton. It is mostly a grab-and-go operation, and the draw for dog owners is unusually simple: dogs are welcome inside the premises as well as in the small outdoor seating area, which is rare for a suburban espresso bar of this size.

The banh mi is the reason people come: the roast pork roll is the standout, generously filled and well priced, with a vegetarian version and rice dishes, pho, bun, burgers and omelettes rounding out the menu. Coffee holds its own alongside the food, and the owner service is frequently called out as friendly. Hours run 8am to 2:30pm on weekdays and 10:30am to 2:30pm Saturdays, closed Sundays, so plan a morning-to-lunch visit.

Augusta Street sits off the main Willetton arteries, with free street parking and a small free lot nearby. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.

For an off-lead run either side of the banh mi, Wilson Park's fenced dog park is the nearest solid option, and the Butterflies, Birds and Bridges trail in Wilson suits an on-lead river walk. If you want a sit-down second stop, Espressoul Coffee and Kitchen in Riverton or The Little Parry in Bull Creek are both dog-friendly and close.
