Table 26 is a corner cafe on Duncan Street in West End that goes further than most for dogs: alongside good Campos coffee and a brunch menu, it runs a dedicated doggy menu. If you want a spot built around bringing the dog, this is the one.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the alfresco and outdoor tables. Water bowls are provided, and the dog menu runs to things like the Wag Tail pancakes and a pooch bowl if you want to treat them. Staff are used to four-legged regulars.

Good to know. Beyond the dog menu, it is a solid brunch stop with the usual bowls, eggs and rolls. It is a genuinely dog-led venue rather than one that merely tolerates them.

Getting there. Parking is free street parking in the surrounding West End streets, which gets competitive between roughly 8 and 11am on weekends. Aim earlier if you want an alfresco table.

Nearby with the dogs. Davies Park and its green space are a few minutes' walk, and the Brisbane River path is close for a walk to work off the pancakes.

a cafe with its own menu for me is the whole point. Order me the pancakes and get an outside table early before the Saturday rush lands.
