Table 26 West End

Table 26 is a corner cafe on Duncan Street in West End that goes further for dogs than most: alongside Campos coffee and a full brunch menu it runs a dedicated dog menu, published right alongside the human food. If you want a Brisbane breakfast spot built around bringing the dog rather than merely tolerating one, this is it.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the alfresco tables out front, and the staff are visibly used to four-legged regulars. Water bowls are provided, and the dog menu is the real thing: a Pooch Poke Bowl with chicken breast, sweet potato, corn and rice, Wagtail Pancakes with peanut butter and liver bits, a Frothy Paws of warm lactose-free milk, natural pet treats, and a smashed banana and peanut butter licky mat for dogs who need occupying while the humans eat.

Worth knowing

The human side holds up too: eggs benedict, bacon and egg rolls, burrito platters and cappuccinos are the regular mentions. Hours run 6am to 2pm Monday to Thursday and 6am to 2:30pm Friday to Sunday, so it is a breakfast-and-lunch venue with an early finish every day. Weekend alfresco tables go fast between the morning rush and midday, so arriving before 8am is the reliable play with a dog.

The cafe sits at the Duncan Street corner in the middle of West End, an easy walk from the Boundary Street strip. Parking is free street parking in the surrounding West End streets, which gets competitive mid-morning on weekends.
