Wolf on Watton

Wolf on Watton is an all-day brunch and drinks spot at 90a Watton Street in central Werribee, and dogs are welcome at the street-front seating. The covered booths out front make it a comfortable stop at either end of a Watton Street walk, whatever the sky is doing.

The dog setup

Dogs take the front exterior booths and pavement seating, which sit slightly back from the busier footpath with cover from sun and rain. Access is straight off the pavement, so you never need to take your dog through the dining room.

Staff will usually bring a water bowl, though a portable one is worth packing on busy weekends. Weekend brunch is the crush period; a weekday table is the easy version.

The vibe

The draw is the all-day menu and a long drinks list that runs from cocktails to on-tap beers and cold-pressed juices, in a modern, design-led room. Eggs benedict, hash browns and smashed avo carry the brunch trade, with gnocchi covering the later hours.

Max: booths out front, leash clipped to the chair, and the benedict is the order. Get in before 9am on a Saturday or you are waiting on the pavement.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits on Werribee's main street, with street parking along Watton Street plus public parking behind the shops and near the Werribee River. Werribee station is an easy walk if you are coming by train.

Make a day of it

The Diversion Weir dog off-leash area on the Werribee River Trail is a short walk away for a proper run before or after brunch, with Levittown Rise Dog Park as a fenced alternative. The rest of Watton Street is walkable too, with Chatterbox Cafe and Bridge Hotel Werribee both taking dogs.
