By The Bay Cafe & Bar sits in the Wyndham Harbour marina complex at Werribee South, with outdoor tables looking straight over the boats and Port Phillip Bay. It runs all day from morning coffee through to sunset drinks, and dogs are welcome at the open-air seating that wraps the venue.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating sections, on lead, with marina views from most tables. Keep your dog on a short leash, two metres or less, in line with the rest of the marina precinct. Staff are generally friendly toward dogs and a water bowl is often an easy ask on arrival. The indoor dining room stays for humans only.

The vibe and the menu

The kitchen leans coastal modern Australian: fish and chips, calamari, the barramundi burger and a steak sandwich, with cakes and smashed avo for the morning trade. There is a full bar for afternoons and live music through the warmer months, and the venue has picked up a reputation for its robot server, which the kids love. Weekend afternoons and sunset slots fill fast in summer.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at 50 Quay Boulevard, Werribee South, inside the Wyndham Harbour precinct about ten minutes from Werribee town centre. Parking is easy: plenty of free spots in the harbour and marina car parks, which makes arriving with a dog straightforward.

Close by with the dogs

For an off-lead run, the Campbells Cove Beach Dog Off Leash Area is just up the coast toward Point Cook, and the Werribee South foreshore has its own off-lead sand section between O'Connors and Duncans Roads.
