A red-and-black-themed coffee bar at 194 Edinburgh Castle Road, Wavell Heights, and one of the more openly dog-welcoming cafes on this part of the northside. Cafe by day, bar later, with the outdoor seating built for bringing the dog along.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the footpath seating and the courtyard; indoor seating is people only. Water bowls are put out in the outdoor areas, and there is enough room to sit comfortably with a dog by your side. Staff have a reputation for being quick and friendly to both ends of the lead.

Good to know. The draw is well-made coffee and fast service, in a space that is easy to spot from the bold colour scheme.

Getting there. Street parking runs along Edinburgh Castle Road and the residential side streets. It sits roughly 9 to 12km north of the Brisbane CBD.

Nearby with the dogs. Murray Duus Park, with its off-leash area opposite the Wavell Heights Bowls Club, is a short walk down Edinburgh Castle Road along the footpath, which makes it easy to pair a coffee with a run.
