What visitors mention
Salt Cafe Urangan is a beachside cafe on the foreshore side of the Oaks resort along the Esplanade, looking straight out at Hervey Bay and the Urangan Pier. It is a relaxed all-day breakfast and lunch spot, and dogs are welcome in the outdoor dining areas.
The dog setup. Dogs join you on the verandah and outdoor seating, not indoors. The cafe puts out dog water bowls. Keep your dog on lead and tucked in by your table so the walkways stay clear.
Good to know. The kitchen does made-to-order breakfast and lunch, good espresso, and is fully licensed with beer, wine and spirits. The view across the water is the standout, and reviewers regularly mention the bay outlook and seafood.
Getting there. It is on the Esplanade at Urangan. There is free undercover parking, entered via Hibiscus Street under the Oaks entrance, with stairs up to either side of the cafe.
Nearby with the dogs. The foreshore walking track runs right along the water for a stroll before or after. Note the pier itself does not allow dogs. Dogs are permitted on the Urangan foreshore between Margaret Street and Churchill Street, so confirm the current signed boundary before letting your dog off lead.
