Urangan Public dog park

The Urangan public dog park is a fully fenced off-leash area at 44 Vista Street, set back in a quiet residential pocket. The fencing is the point: it is a secure space to let your dog run and socialise without worrying about roads.

The rules. Dogs must be registered with Fraser Coast Regional Council and up to date with vaccinations. Owners stay present and in control, with dogs responsive to voice commands. Clean up after your dog; bags and bins are provided. Restricted or dangerous dogs are not permitted, and dogs that become a nuisance to others should be leashed and removed.

What is there. Full perimeter fencing, bench seating for owners, bins on site, and on-site parking with a wheelchair-accessible entrance. The ground is mostly grassed with some uneven, sandy sections.

Getting there. Drive in via the Esplanade and the surrounding residential streets to Vista Street. Buses run along the nearby Esplanade, but the park is mainly reached by car given its quieter location.

When to go. Early mornings are usually the quietest. Weekday evenings and weekend afternoons draw more dogs, which suits a confident, social dog but is worth avoiding if yours prefers a calmer run.
