Cafe Have Ya Bean

Cafe Have Ya Bean sits at 12 Main Street, the up hill end of Upwey's village strip, opening 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 3pm Saturdays with Sundays closed. The name sets the tone and the room backs it up: a cozy local cafe where the focaccias and cake cabinet do the talking and regulars get greeted by order.

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating, and the cafe caters to them directly with puppaccinos on the menu, per the venue's Instagram and review listings; there is no standalone website, so those carry the record. A puppaccino order plus a footpath table is about as low friction as a dog morning gets, and the village strip footpath means water bowls and passers by with dogs are part of the furniture.

The vibe

Friendly staff come up in nearly every review, the vanilla iced chai has its own following, and the focaccias make a better hill walk lunch than most. Weekday mornings are locals and the Saturday trade brings the Dandenongs visitors, with the 3pm Saturday close worth remembering when the day runs long. It is small inside, so with a dog in tow the outdoor tables are the plan rather than the fallback.
