The BnG Cafe

The BnG Cafe runs along Quarry Street in Ultimo, in the dense inner city wedge between Broadway and the UTS block, and its outdoor tables on Quarry Street are where the local dog walking crowd stops. Reviewers regularly report dog walkers using the outside seating, and the street's calmer pace compared with the Broadway end makes it a workable stop even for dogs who find the city noisy.

The dog setup

Dogs go at the outdoor tables on Quarry Street, a strip of footpath seating removed from the main traffic drag. The morning regulars include apartment dwellers doing the pre work circuit with dogs on lead, so the outside tables see steady dog traffic and staff are reported to be friendly about it. Bring a mat if your dog likes a defined spot; the footpath is wide enough for one.

The menu covers the inner city greatest hits with a few flourishes: avocado toast, eggs benedict, a poke bowl, hash browns, a mushroom toastie and choco french toast for the sweet shift, with a cosy cafe feel inside for the non dog members of the party. Find it at 103-105 Quarry Street, Ultimo, open 6:30am to 3pm weekdays and 7am to 3pm weekends. Quarry Street parking is inner city scarce, so most visitors arrive on foot from the surrounding blocks or from the Broadway bus corridor, and the ground is all pavement, so pick grass stops along the way if your dog needs them.
