Nowhere Espresso Pizzeria and Wine Bar

Nowhere Espresso is an award-winning community cafe set in a heritage Queenslander at 8 Bent Street in West Toowong, running all-day breakfast and specialty coffee by day and pizza and wine from Wednesday evenings. Dogs are welcome at the street-facing outdoor tables, so the morning coffee run with the dog in tow works here seven days a week.

The dog setup

Dogs settle with you at the outdoor tables out the front, which you can reach without heading inside. It is a footpath setup rather than a fenced courtyard, so keep the lead short with passing foot traffic on Bent Street. Water bowls are reported at the outdoor tables, though bringing your own on hot days is a safe bet. The cosy interior, with its mini-library and games corner, is for humans only.

Worth knowing

The breakfast side carries the reputation: chilli scrambled eggs, acai bowls and a generous avocado smash with feta and macadamia crumb get regular mentions, alongside a kids menu and plenty of vegetarian options. From Wednesday to Sunday evenings the same room turns pizzeria and wine bar, with Italian-style pizzas, a curated wine list and cocktails. Hours run 6am to 3pm Monday and Tuesday, 6am to 8pm Wednesday to Friday, and 7am to 8pm weekends. Getting there and parking

The cafe sits on Bent Street in the quieter West Toowong blocks, a short walk from the Toowong village end of High Street. Street parking runs along Bent Street and the surrounding side streets, and it tightens up on weekend mornings.

The Anzac Park Fenced Dog Park is a short drive for a proper off-lead run either side of breakfast, and Perrin Park Dog Recreation Area (Large Dogs) gives big dogs their own fenced space closer to the village.
