Quatre Cafe

Quatre Cafe is a family-run neighbourhood cafe at 7 Cave Road in Strathfield, directly opposite Strathfield Park. It opens early from 6am on weekdays and welcomes dogs at its covered outdoor tables, which makes it a natural stop for morning walkers doing a lap of the park before work. The kitchen leans Mediterranean alongside the usual brunch standards, and locals rate it for generous portions and welcoming staff.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the covered outdoor seating area, on lead and under your control. Staff generally keep dogs to the outdoor tables rather than the dining room, with assistance animals the usual exception. Water bowls are usually put out and the counter sometimes has treats, worth asking when you order. Because the tables are covered rather than fenced, keep the lead short when the breakfast rush is on.

Worth knowing

The menu runs to hearty breakfast plates like the signature Big Ozz, smashed avo, eggs benedict and an acai bowl, plus prawn linguine and halloumi dishes at lunch, with vegetarian and vegan options readily catered for. Coffee gets consistent praise, and there are house-made cookies and pastries in the cabinet. Hours are 6am to 3pm weekdays, 6:30am Saturdays and 7am Sundays, closing mid-afternoon all week.

Getting there and parking

Free street parking is available on Cave Road and the surrounding residential streets, check signage for time limits. Strathfield Station is a short walk away, and the cafe has wheelchair-accessible entrance and seating with restrooms on site.

Close by with the dogs

Strathfield Park sits right across the road, but it is an on-lead park under council rules, so for a proper run head to the Hudson Park Fenced Dog Park or the Allen Street Reserve Fenced Dog Park in Homebush, which has a 1.3 metre fence, double-gated entry and agility equipment.
