Grant Park Fenced Dog Park

Grant Park Fenced Dog Park sits within the Henley Park precinct in Enfield, a well-fitted-out off-leash space with two separate fenced sections so smaller or lower-energy dogs are not competing with the boisterous crowd.

The rules. Dogs must stay under effective voice control even though the area is fenced. Airlock double gates need to be closed properly on entry and exit. The surrounding playgrounds and picnic areas are on-leash only, and any dog showing aggression should be removed straight away.

What's there. Secure fencing around 1200mm high, covered seating, water stations, grooming tables and solar lighting for evening visits. Public toilets and a barbecue area are nearby in the wider Henley Park grounds.

Getting there. The park is at 4 Shelley Street, Enfield. There's free street parking on Shelley Street plus a car park within the Henley Park complex, though it fills up fast on weekends when sport is on. Local buses run along Liverpool Road (the Hume Highway) a short walk away.

Nearby with the dogs. Garden House Cafe on Mitchell Street is an easy stop for coffee afterwards, and the Royal Sheaf Hotel in nearby Burwood has dog-friendly outdoor space.

Weekend mornings between 8 and 11 and weekday early evenings are busiest. Mid-morning on a weekday is the quiet window, and worth it if your dog prefers space over socialising.
