Hudson Park Fenced Dog Park

Hudson Park Fenced Dog Park sits behind the Hudson Park Driving Range at 119 Arthur Street, Strathfield, and reopened in March 2025 after upgrades to the precinct. Complete fencing, a double-gate entry and separate zones for small and large dogs make it a genuinely secure off-leash option, with the added bonus of 24-hour access.

The dog setup

The enclosure runs on natural grass with water stations on site and bins for waste. Separate secure zones keep boisterous large-dog play away from smaller or quieter dogs, and night lighting stretches usable hours into the evening. Poo bag dispensers are stocked on site, so there is less excuse for anyone leaving a surprise behind.

Council rules still apply inside: dogs must be under effective control at all times, handlers are limited to four dogs each, and leads go back on for the walk to and from the gate. Use the double-gate entry properly by closing the first gate before opening the second, because a fenced park only stays secure if everyone treats it the same way.

The vibe

Max: the airlock entry is the part I watch. It works only if the person ahead of you closes the first gate, so I hang back at the gate line rather than crowding it.

Weekend mornings and weekday evenings draw the biggest local crowds. Mid-morning or mid-afternoon on a weekday is the quieter window, which suits reactive dogs or anyone still building confidence.

Getting there and parking

The park is fully fenced and set back from surrounding traffic, which matters for nervous or excitable dogs. Use the Hudson Park car park off Arthur Street, and note the wider precinct adds public toilets, BBQs, picnic shelters, a playground and courts a short walk away.

Close by with the dogs

For more enclosed runs nearby, the Allen Street Reserve Fenced Dog Park and Bressington Park Fenced Dog Park are both in Homebush, and Elliot Reserve sits just south. For distance rather than fences, the Homebush Bay and Parramatta River Loop is a proper on-lead walk away.
