August Coffee

August Coffee is a bright, modern all-day brunch spot in North Strathfield's Bakehouse Quarter at Shop 6, 16-22 George Street, and its alfresco seating is genuinely set up for dogs. Expect Vietnamese-inspired brunch plates, serious matcha and coffee, and an outdoor area with enough room for a lead beside the table.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the undercover outdoor alfresco area, which is spacious enough to keep a dog settled beside your table without blocking the walkway. Staff regularly put water out for dogs, and puppuccinos appear for well behaved visitors. Keep dogs leashed and calm as you would anywhere with steady foot traffic; the Bakehouse Quarter draws families and groups, so a dog that settles under a chair does best.

Worth knowing

The kitchen covers a long day: latte art and cherry matcha are the drinks people photograph, the Floating Hash Bennies headline the brunch list, and steak sandwiches and sourdough round out the savoury side. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly. Hours are generous too, running from 7am to 10pm Monday through Saturday and to 5pm on Sundays, which makes it one of the few dog-friendly tables in the area for an evening meal.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits in the Bakehouse Quarter on George Street, North Strathfield, with the precinct's on-site parking a short walk from the tables. North Strathfield Station is close enough to arrive on foot with the dog, which is the easiest option on weekend evenings when the precinct fills.

Close by with the dogs

The Homebush Bay and Parramatta River Loop is the natural long walk to earn brunch, and the Hudson Park Fenced Dog Park covers off-lead time a short drive away. For a second table, Bar Biscotti is the Bakehouse Quarter's other long-running option.
