Bar Biscotti

Bar Biscotti is a busy family-owned bakery and cafe in North Strathfield's Bakehouse Quarter, famous for pastries baked on site, and it takes dogs at its outdoor tables with no fuss and no fee.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the designated outdoor and footpath seating, not indoors, that is a health and safety line the cafe holds firmly. There is no surcharge for bringing a dog. Keep leads on and dogs settled beside the table, out of the path staff use to move between tables, this place gets busy. Water bowls are often put out for dogs in the outdoor area.

Good to know. The pistachio cookie croissant has gone properly viral, and the all-day breakfast and lunch menu (shakshuka, big breakfast) draws a steady crowd. Coffee is a solid house blend alongside matcha lattes.

Getting there. Bar Biscotti is at 24 George St, in the Bakehouse Quarter. North Strathfield station is a 5 to 7 minute walk. The Bakehouse Quarter has free on-site parking plus free street parking nearby.

Nearby with the dogs. A wander through the Bakehouse Quarter's brick-paved laneways makes an easy leg-stretch before or after. For a proper off-leash run, Bicentennial Park at Sydney Olympic Park is a short drive with long paved paths and plenty of grass.

When to go. Weekday mornings are calmer than weekend brunch, when the outdoor tables and the pastry counter both queue up.
