La Lune Market

La Lune Market is a Korean-style cafe at 1/13 George Street in North Strathfield, best known for its basque burnt cheesecake and an inventive matcha lineup. Dogs join you at the outdoor footpath tables, which suits the compact interior anyway.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome outside, not inside, with seating spilling onto the footpath. It is a small operation and water bowls are not guaranteed the way they are at bigger venues, so bring your own. Keep your dog leashed and close; the footpath setup offers less room than a courtyard, and foot traffic passes nearby.

The vibe

The drawcards are the basque cheesecake and croffles, alongside drinks like coconut matcha, black sesame latte and rotating seasonal specials. The savoury side runs to loaded Korean-style sandos and the chicken sandwich that regulars order. It doubles as a popular study and brunch spot, so tables turn over quickly and Saturday mornings get busy. Walk-ins only, trading 7am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm Saturday, closed Sundays.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits on George Street, a short walk from North Strathfield station. Street parking exists on George Street and the side streets but fills up on weekends, so public transport is the easier option. If the footpath tables are full, August Coffee up the same strip has a bigger undercover outdoor area that also takes dogs, so you are never stuck without a fallback.

Make a day of it

Weekday mornings give you the best shot at a free footpath table with a dog in tow. For a proper walk either side of coffee, Bressington Park Fenced Dog Park in Homebush is a short drive, or take the longer Homebush Bay and Parramatta River Loop.
