Urbano Organic Coffee Traders

Urbano Organic Coffee Traders is a roaster-cafe at 4 Rochester Street, Homebush, directly opposite the station, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables. The coffee is certified organic, fair trade and roasted in small batches on site, which is enough to draw coffee people from across the inner west on its own.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor, footpath-facing seating area, leashed and settled beside the table. Indoor seating is people-only. Staff have a welcoming reputation with canine regulars, but there is no confirmed water bowl station, so bring your own water on warm days. The footpath tables are a comfortable spot with the station platform across the road.

The vibe and the menu

These days it runs as a daytime operation: Mediterranean-leaning brunch, eggs benedict, an avocado stack, gyros, fresh pastries including almond and seasonal-filled croissants, and house-made bread, cakes and sausage rolls. Hours are 5:30am to 3pm weekdays and 6am to 4pm weekends, with the kitchen winding up around 3pm on Sundays. Weekday early mornings belong to the commuter crowd; weekend brunch fills the strip.

Getting there and parking

It sits on Rochester Street opposite Homebush station, so the train is genuinely the easiest option. Street parking around Rochester Street and the side roads is a mix of free and timed spots and fills quickly on weekend mornings. Powells Creek Reserve is close for a leg stretch.

Close by with the dogs

For a walk before or after, the Powells Creek Dog Off-Leash Area is minutes away in Concord West and the Allen Street Reserve Fenced Dog Park sits on the Homebush side. On the same strip, Bar Cortona is the neighbourhood coffee alternative, and Abattoir Blues is the bigger brunch option toward Sydney Olympic Park.
