Coffee warden

Coffee Warden is a small bayside cafe at 74 Ward Street, on the Sandgate-Brighton border close to the foreshore. It is a friendly, relaxed spot popular with locals walking their dogs.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor street-side seating under shady umbrellas; indoors is for people. Water bowls are often out and staff are friendly to pets. Keep your dog on-leash, as the seating sits beside foot traffic.

Good to know. Serves Lavazza coffee and a broad all-day breakfast, with savoury mince, bacon and egg rolls and hearty plates among the regular orders. Quiet, local and good for a quick coffee after a walk.

Getting there. Street parking along Ward Street and the nearby residential streets. It is roughly a 1.8km walk from Sandgate Station.

Nearby with the dogs. The Brighton-Sandgate foreshore walking tracks are about 400m away, with Peace Park close by, and the fenced Curlew Park off-leash area a short drive on.
