3 Blind Mice Cafe

3 Blind Mice Cafe is a small, rustic cafe at Shop 4, 198 Seymour Street in Sandgate, sitting directly opposite Sandgate Memorial Park on Brisbane's bayside. It closes Mondays and runs 6:30am to 1pm the rest of the week, with a menu that breaks the suburb's brunch mould.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the footpath tables directly in front of the cafe, shaded by umbrellas and on flat, paved ground that is easy for a dog to settle on. Staff are known to bring water out. Because the tables sit on the street edge of a quiet block, keep the lead short and your dog tucked in while people pass by.

Worth knowing

The kitchen does a Pakistani-Australian fusion menu: chicken tikka roti wraps, sheesh kebabs and curries alongside breakfast plates, veggie burgers and crepes, with Cleanskin Coffee on the machine. That makes it a genuinely different lunch option in a suburb of mostly straight-up brunch cafes. Weekend mornings fill Seymour Street parking quickly, but the Memorial Park side streets have more.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is about 25 minutes north of the Brisbane CBD by car and a short walk from Sandgate station on the Shorncliffe line. Street parking runs along Seymour Street, filling on weekends, with more around Sandgate Memorial Park. The foreshore and its walking paths are a few minutes on foot.

Close by with the dogs

Sandgate Memorial Park is directly opposite for a post-coffee wander, and the Sandgate foreshore dog off-leash area is a short walk away at low tide. The Curlew Park fenced dog park is close by too. If the roti is sold out, Capulet & Co and Bangin Beans are both dog-friendly locals on the same side of town.
