What visitors mention
Ripples Cafe & Bar sits right on the water at 82 Bayview Street, overlooking the Runaway Bay boat ramp and marina. It is one of the few Runaway Bay cafes with a genuine pups menu, so it is worth the trip for the food as much as the view.
The dog setup. Dogs are welcome on the outdoor waterfront deck and alfresco tables (not indoors). Staff put out water bowls, and there is a dedicated pups menu, around $6, with options like grilled chicken, beef patties and scrambled eggs. Keep dogs leashed and settled beside the table, standard cafe etiquette applies.
Known for. The marina views are the drawcard, plus Cats Pyjamas coffee and a relaxed breakfast-brunch-lunch menu. Open Tuesday to Sunday, 6am to 2pm, so plan an early or midweek visit if you want a table on the deck.
Getting there. The cafe is close to Runaway Bay Shopping Village. Street parking is available on Bayview Street, plus a parking area near the boat ramp and marina.
Nearby with the dogs. Walk it off along the Runaway Bay Marina foreshore, or continue on to the Broadwater foreshore paths, both easy on-leash strolls before or after a coffee.
