Hollywell Dog Park

Hollywell Dog Park is the local name for the fenced off-leash area at Bayview Park, on Bayview Street in Hollywell on the northern Gold Coast. It's a fully fenced, double-gated space with separate sections for small and large dogs, so it suits a nervous terrier as easily as a boisterous labrador.

The rules. Off-leash access is limited to inside the fenced areas, and dogs need a responsible person aged 17 or over supervising them at all times. Dogs should be wearing a collar with registration tags, and owners are required to clean up after them. Chasing or harassing wildlife isn't permitted, and the children's playground within the park is off-limits to dogs.

What's there. Multiple agility obstacles are set up for dogs that like a challenge, and there are picnic shelters, tables and seating for owners. A drinking fountain and dog waste bags are provided, though there are no public toilets on site.

Getting there. Reach it via Bayview Street or Hyacinth Avenue, with free on-street parking on both. Local Gold Coast bus routes run along Bayview Street if you're not driving.

Nearby with the dogs. Dog-friendly cafes cluster along the Esplanade in nearby Paradise Point, about five minutes' drive, and in Labrador a little further on. Hollywell and Runaway Bay both have pet-friendly holiday apartments if you're staying over.

When to go. Early mornings and the 4pm to 6pm window get busiest, especially on weekends. Midday or mid-morning on a weekday is the quiet option.
