Paradise Point Foreshore is the off-leash stretch at the northern end of Paradise Point Parklands, on the corner of The Esplanade and The Sovereign Mile. The draw is calm, shallow Broadwater water off a sandy foreshore, so it suits dogs that like to swim and socialise rather than chase surf.
The rules. Only the northern end of the parklands is off-leash, so lead your dog on until you are inside the zone and lead it again as you leave. Dogs must be under effective voice control, and a person over 17 has to be supervising. Dogs are not allowed in the children's playground or the swimming enclosure. Bins are provided, so pick up as you go.
The water. The Broadwater here is sheltered and shallow, which makes it forgiving for nervous swimmers. Tide matters more than swell: at low tide you get a wide sandy run, while high tide pushes the water up to the grass line and shrinks the play space.
What's there. Waste-bag dispensers and bins, drinking water taps, seating and some natural tree shade along the foreshore. The wider parklands add toilets, BBQs and walking paths.
Getting there. Park along The Esplanade or The Sovereign Mile. It fills early on weekend mornings, so come before 8am or mid-morning on a weekday if you want a quiet run. TransLink buses run near Paradise Point with a short walk to the foreshore.

Best on a weekday or mid-morning, around low to mid tide for the most sand. Good for water-loving dogs and steady swimmers.
