L'Etranger

L'Etranger is a family-run brunch cafe at 510 Marine Parade in Biggera Waters, sitting just back from the road opposite the Broadwater with a garden-style deck that takes dogs. It pairs Korean-influenced breakfast plates with straightforward cafe staples, and the foreshore path out front makes it an easy stop on a waterfront walk.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor deck, and staff are relaxed about them settling in beside your table; water bowls are usually offered to visiting dogs. Visitors also report dogs being taken indoors, but the deck is the reliable option, so aim for a table along the edge for the Broadwater outlook with your dog out of the walkway. If the deck is full on a weekend morning, check with staff before committing rather than assuming a wait will fix it.

The vibe and the menu

The kitchen is known for its cheesy potato balls with smoked salmon, chilli scrambled eggs, eggs benedict and bulgogi rice bowls, and staff will do half serves for lighter appetites. Coffee, fresh juices, smoothies and a dirty chai cover the drinks list, and there are kids' options for family tables. Hours are 7am to 2pm Tuesday through Sunday, closed Mondays, and weekend mornings fill quickly, so come early or expect a short wait.

Getting there and parking

Free street parking runs along Marine Parade and the adjacent side streets, turning over slowly on busy weekends, so the early arrival helps twice over. The Broadwater foreshore path starts effectively at the door, which is what makes this a natural walk-and-coffee stop.

For a proper swim before brunch, the off-leash water access at The Spit dog beach is a short drive south, and the agility equipment at Musgrave dog park is on the way. Sanctum at Harbour Town is the other dog-friendly coffee option in the same pocket of the Gold Coast.
