Caffene Break Runaway Bay

Caffene Break is a local brunch spot at Shop C, 8 Bayview Street, Runaway Bay, popular with early risers and known among Gold Coast dog owners as a genuinely welcoming stop for dogs. It opens before most of the strip is awake, which makes it a natural first stop on an early walk.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor courtyard seating area, with heaters on hand for cooler mornings, and indoor dining is for humans only. Keep your dog leashed and settled beside the table; the team are pet owners themselves and the welcome is warm, but bringing your own water bowl is the safe play on busy mornings.

Worth knowing

The menu is a proper breakfast and brunch one: avocado toast with beetroot relish, eggs benny, açai bowls, fresh juices and a muffin case, poured with Merlo coffee. Weekday trade starts at 5:30am and wraps by midday or 12:30pm, with weekends from 6am, so this is a morning venue rather than a lunch stop.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits near the Runaway Bay shopping strip with free parking nearby, and it is an easy walk to the marina for a waterside loop afterwards. Weekends bring a steady local crowd through the courtyard, but the turnover is quick and the early opening means you rarely have to wait long with a dog.
