Leaping Goat Coffee

Leaping Goat Coffee is a micro-roastery and cafe at 2 Ferguson Drive, Quoiba, on the southern edge of Devonport. Coffee is roasted on site in an industrial warehouse space, and dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating while you work through a flat white and whatever is left of the caramel slices.

The dog setup

Dogs are permitted in the exterior seating area only; inside is for humans and sacks of green beans. There is no confirmed supply of water bowls or treats, so pack your own bowl and keep your dog on lead. The vibe is casual and family-friendly rather than polished, which suits a dog who prefers to flop under a table and watch the roasting happen.

Max: Ask the staff which blend to take home. They know the roasts inside out, and a sunny outdoor seat with a long black is a solid weekday morning out.

Worth knowing

This is a working roastery first, and the blends are the point: the lineup runs through house roasts like Colombian Toffee and Rich Mocha, with alternative milks, homemade slices and beans or subscriptions to take away. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm, closed weekends, so this is a weekday stop. Free on-site and street parking, plus an accessible entrance, make arrivals easy.
