Cafe 7 runs from early morning to mid afternoon, every day of the week, on The Esplanade at the northern Gold Coast's Point precinct. Opening at 6am puts it in the breakfast-brigade lane: swimmers, walkers and dog owners doing the esplanade loop before the heat arrives, and the alfresco tables fill accordingly.

Dogs are welcome in the alfresco outdoor seating area, per the cafe's Google listing and local dog-friendly cafe rundowns, so the policy is visitor-reported rather than published by the venue. The esplanade position does a lot of the work - water views on one side, foot traffic on the other - and staff have a welcoming reputation that regulars call out often. Bring the dog settled and shaded; there is no fencing between the tables and the path.

The vibe

The menu covers the holiday-coast classics well: corn fritters, eggs benedict and avo smash all get repeat mentions, and the cake and muffin cabinet gives you a reason to linger. Portions come up generous on reviewer lists, which matters if breakfast is doubling as the main meal of the day. Because service runs from dawn, the 6am tables are the calmest; by mid morning the families take over.

While you're out there

The esplanade location pairs naturally with water time, and the foreshore reserve next door gives the dog a stretch of leash-free shoreline before or after your table. For an off-lead fenced run a short drive north, Saltwater Fenced Dog Park on Hope Island is the closest dedicated option.
