Coffee Embassy Bar

Coffee Embassy Bar is a specialty coffee spot at 33/1-3 Kleins Road in Northmead, just off the Windsor Road intersection, and the team is upfront about the welcome: the cafe's own Facebook declares it pet friendly, and the outdoor tables out front are where dogs go. It doubles as the suburb's workhorse coffee shop and one of the few places in Northmead where a dog is an expected guest rather than an edge case.

The dog setup

Dogs are allowed at the footpath-side outdoor seating on lead. There is no indoor option for dogs, so check the front tables are free before you order. Staff are used to pups visiting and put water out when needed, but bring your own bowl as backup since supply is not guaranteed. The footpath seating sits near passing traffic, so a dog that settles close to your chair will have a better time than one that patrols.

The food and the hours

The coffee is the anchor, and the kitchen stretches well past standard cafe fare - an all-day breakfast and lunch menu plus Vietnamese-leaning plates like banh mi and crispy pork burgers, with acai bowls and melts for the lighter orders. Locals rate the bacon and egg roll highly. Hours are 6am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 4pm on weekends, which makes the early dog-walk coffee an easy habit here.

Close by with the dogs

The fenced off-lead section at Burlington Memorial Park on Boundary Road is a few minutes away and runs around the clock, so park-then-coffee is a clean circuit. If you want to keep going, Paper Plane Cafe and homage specialty coffee both cover the Parramatta end of the same patch.
